The Loss of a Loved One

This life is a spiritual journey reserved only for brave souls.
We are courageous adventurers, taking human form
so that we may see God’s beauty through human eyes,
feel the feelings of a human heart,
and the touch of love.

We are not our bodies.
And when we leave them behind, we do not die.
Our souls return to the source of life—
the one Spirit from which all life
in the universe was birthed.

And although we feel great loss
when the one we love departs,
all of Heaven rejoices at their return.

Their journey is completed
by the love they leave behind in us.
